Why Small Pets Love To Burrow

For us pet parents, it's quite a delight to see our four-legged friends doing silly things. Many of us have watched our dog or cat digging into blankets and trying to burrow in unique places. This behavior is common because dogs and cats inherently love to burrow.

It's natural instinct for them to want to dig and crawl underneath something. Not only do they enjoy it, but burrowing provides a sense of comfort and security. You may notice this a lot among smaller dogs because they tend to feel intimidated by their size, therefore, burrowing into a small protected place helps them feel safe.

Cats are notable for always being on the lookout for that perfect little hiding spot. While some dogs may like to hide also-- typically, you'll find them burrowing for play, to hide things, or simply sleep.
